Jessica and James beautiful August wedding with a Catholic ceremony. Such a fun day. It was killer hot and we were all so thankful for the A/C in the flat and we were able to stay inside and take pictures in the cool air… but also WAY COOL architecture. So fun having this stunning Three Oaks Michigan venue so close to home.

This sunrise Shenandoah National Park gave us was so moody. It gave us so many colors and versions of itself the first half of our session before the sun slipped behind the morning clouds.
This hike ended up being a little longer than we originally thought, but I loved hitting the trail with Shelby + Daniel in formal wear. And that waterfall. Heart eyes!
Sweet Bella. This beautiful high school senior was once my neighbor and I BABYSAT HER. And now she’s graduating high school. Does that make me old? The kids I babysat are graduating????
Back in 2009 I was in the beginning days of my photography journey. I took a film photography class. I carried my dad’s old 35mm film camera with me everywhere. I was at the park with Bella and I snapped a darling photo of her sitting in a playground tube. (I have the negative still. I should reprint and share!).
And this summer I got to take her senior pictures for her 13 years later. I love when life comes full circle like this. These moments are beautiful and I am trying not to take them for granted.
Dana + Dillon were one of those super fun, energetic couples who were ready to celebrate with their loved ones. Remember that weekend back in November that was like 70 degrees? Yeah, we lucked out on this sunny warm day. Looking forward to their wedding day this summer at the new Watermark Solarium. I did Erika’s sister’s wedding last summer (haven’t blogged it yet, way behind on my blogging). And now I get to do Erika’s and her fiancé, Elijah’s wedding!
Dana and Dillon braved the freezing rain with me for their session. But they made it so fun with their playful and adventurous spirits. You can’t even tell how cold it was! They are getting married at Inisfree Farm this summer and I’m so excited to photograph at another new venue.
I texted Amanda a couple hours before our scheduled session and told her it looked like it was going to be raining. I gave her the choice to reschedule or proceed with our scheduled time. She choose to keep the session even if it meant it might be raining. I love these types of brave and bold clients! Seriously the best. Well it rained… I mean poured for the first 20 minutes. The pictures don’t do the amount of rain justice. Then we decided to drive down to New Buffalo Beach. The clouds parted, the sun peaked through, a rainbow appeared. It was magical, beautiful and inspiring. Guys, great risk, great reward. The next day I found out a tornado had touched down during this storm about 45 minutes away from us in South Bend! So crazy! Enjoy these!
There was an insane amount of joy overflowing the whole day of Brian + Savannah’s wedding at Blissful Barn in Three Oaks, Michigan. Everything was so beautiful despite the spurts of rain and tornado warnings!

Eric and Kayla were definitely the most joyfilled couple ever! Each one was BEAMING at every moment of the day. At one point I was asking them to both do a more serious face and it lasted like a half second before the burst out laughing.
This was my first wedding at the new Tabor Hill venue and oh my goodness… it’s gorgeous!
While this wedding was SO EASY because everyone was so happy, it was CHALLENGING because it was 30 something degrees. Kayla didn’t want to bring her ceremony inside (which I 100% approve of). I would have done the same thing! However it literally hailed on us during the ceremony! created some epic pictures and memories, but challenging as I tried to keep my lenses clean and dry! I will never forget this amazing day. I love when brides and grooms are this in-love and I love when they are just there to have the best of time with their best of friends.

I haven’t done anything like this personal on my website before, but I’ve read that if your bucket list public or on display you are more likely to achieve your goals. I sat down recently to write down my New Year’s resolutions, but I ended up creating a 30 Before 30 Bucket List. Seeing that I have just over a year and half to accomplish these things, I tried to keep them relatively attainable both budget wise and timeline wise. I’m pairing them with personal pictures from our east coast road trip because, ya know, I’m a photographer.
